How come the images don't work in my subfolder of my website?

You will need to edit your html as such:

www.yourdomain.com/subfolder/ (You installed it all within the subfolder)

<img src="/subfolder/images/imagename.jpg" alt="alt title name" />

As you see if you install this within a subfolder you should define the subfolder within your img src's and they should show up without any problem in all browser types.
